I am writing to tell you that I have moved to New York City and have been living here now for several days.  This is the greatest city in the world.  In the block down from my apartment, each storefront is a new aquarium, complete with strange corals and colored stones.  On the next, giant chandeliers hang from the wires in place of traffic lights.  On the corner, trained bears serve breakfast all night long to the city girls who are all wearing tutus and ballet slippers this year.

I want you to know that I did not come here from any lack of love for you.
